“It is with great pride and pleasure that I serve on the board for Bridges Denton County Outreach Inc. since 2003 to the present. The fulfillment that one senses, is the most amazing part of sharing my time with the Board, knowing that it is for a much needed worthwhile purpose.

The sparkle in those children's eyes and testimonies heard, after they have attained a goal in their education process, as a result of our caring teachers working with them during the summer as well as during the term of the school year, is worth it all. I know Mrs. Elliott is rejoicing with the angels in Heaven to know that Bridges is continuing to go forward in helping our children succeed and to be productive citizens.

May God continue to bless Bridges!”

“The blessing of working at DeLay Middle School with Mrs. Elliott gave her and I time to talk about the needs of our diverse community of children. Our students needed continued support beyond the school year, not only in the academic areas but in the spiritual realm. Bridges was a vehicle for supporting our students in that manner. By providing a venue, activities, appropriate adult role models and spiritual direction, Bridges is making our world a better place. It is truly humbling to be a small part of that movement.”

“Looking back at the inception of Bridges makes me realize how much this organization has impacted the lives of children. The focus has always been to meet the needs of the children, including Algebra Foundation classes, TAKS tutoring classes, band tutoring, sports camps, and STARR tutoring. Bridges is an organic organization that changes as the children’s needs change. I have been a part of this since Mrs. Elliott devised this concept to provide support for elementary students.

To witness over 3,000 children walking across the stage and getting their diploma is priceless, knowing that I have been a part of this organization. With the dedication of the Board and staff, Bridges continues to move forward after the loss of our founder, Mrs. Elliott. Bridges carries on the torch for the forgotten children, the ones who need every advantage to become well-adjusted, productive citizens. I am very proud to be a part of this dynamic organization.”
